When separating a score into parts, the solo instrument is still joined in by the rest of the ensemble. The mixer fixes this, but it's a feature in MuseScore 2 so it'd be nice to have that back. Wonderful improvements though! A nice new UI that's sleeker and more polished, but still familiar to old users! :)

See #109941: Regression—playback in single part instead plays full score. For now this is "by design" - as you observe, the Mixer allows either behavior, unlike in 2.3.2 when you could only hear the part solo. But we could consider changing the default if enough people say that's the behavior they prefer.
