Missing either exact version in download link, either date in "About" dialog box.

• Dec 25, 2018 - 20:57

Hi,
The Download links and the official announcement contain the version date (Dec 24), not the exact number.
The "About" dialog box contains the version number 3.0.0.47.47, not the date.
That makes impossible to manually compare the version and download link if desired.
The download link should contain the version number, or the About dialog box should contain the date.
I know about the "Check for update" function, but want to compare myself or bypass the cases where "Check for update" fails.

The version number is 3.0.0. 4747 is the build number, for Windows, here for RC. The final has 4785, and is not available via the "check for updates". Mac builds have different build numbers, and once we have 32bit Windows builds, those will have yet another build number.
Those build numbers is what the "check for updates" works on.
What you'd really need is the git commit SHA, that is unique across platforms. It is behind that clipboard icon.

Well that should be better advertised, because from MuseScore installation it says:

I was surprised as I was not sure to have downloaded yesterday.
But it is impossible to check due to missing version number in download links (I understand that build number differs by platform, but so do the download links, so no prob),
or adding date to "About dialog box" instead of build number only.

Unfortunately, the info behind the clipboard icon still doesn't contain anything which can be compared to the info on the download page.
Because the only info given on the download page is the date, and the date is not included in the clipboard text:

OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.0.4747, revision: 96c1f7b
