Playback Jumping to Random Places While Playing?

• Jan 2, 2019 - 05:31

I'm currently working on a decent sized piece, and as of switching from MuseScore 2 to MuseScore 3 after getting a new PC, I'm experiencing an issue that is hindering my work. When playing my score, the playback will often randomly skip ahead a few measures. Not only that, but it will hold out whichever note the program randomly selected until I pause it. Sometimes it will do this repeatedly, which keeps me from listening to my piece at all. It's honestly a bit eerie. I have to assume user error here, but I couldn't say what I've been doing different. Anybody have any tips on how I could keep this from happening in the future?

We have heard some reports of this and believe it is connected to "autosave" kicking in. So easiest workaorund would be to save your score before playing. Or disable autosave in Edit / Preferences, but I don't recommend doing that unless you are in the habit of always saving your work very regularly so you don't lose too much is a crash occurs.
