Center chords over and correct rests in emty bars

• Jan 21, 2019 - 14:39

Wondering nobody requsted this yet, when I aligning chords centered to reference point, the chord is placed at the beginning of the bar instead over the whole rest in the centre, and here we are comming to the next point, the rest in an empty bar shouldn't ignore the time signature.

They will be aligned with the beats, but then I normally split the whole rest into 4 quarter rests, that the musician knows when the chord changes, it should be just an additional checkbox option in the settings.
1 shows how it is currently
2 shows how I like to have it at least
3 shows the actual rest for the current time signature, but off center
4 shows the solution I would like to have, that I don't have to do so much by hand, because it's really time consuming

It is not at all standard in my experience to center chords over measures; this makes it extremely unclear when the chord is supposed to be played (I"d guess you meant beat three if I saw that). If you have some special reason to deviate from the standard, you can move the chord manually, but I don't recommend it.

Also, it is absolutely standard for the rest in an empty measure to be written as a centered whole rest - all published music does this. But you are also welcome to violate this standard by entering rests manually.
