MuseScore 3.0.1 Sound issue

• Jan 21, 2019 - 20:42

Hi, Gang!!!

I use MuseScore 3.0.1, Portable version, into UbuntuStudio 18.04.1 LTS (64 bit Linux), using ALSA Audio drive.

I was posted something about that before, but... Now I'm tempting to think this could be a bug...

Each time I open MuseScore 3.0.1... I don't get any sound!!!

If I go to the "Preferences" Menu, "Input/Output" Tab, I can press the "Restarting Sound Driver" button and, then, I get sound. BUT... The visible grey pointer is out-of-time with the sound!!!

If I go to the "Preferences" Menu, "Input/Output" Tab, I can press the "Restarting Sound Driver" button and, then, I restarting the app, then... Sometimes I get sound, sometimes not.

Whatever... Each time the app is opened, I can hear a very weird sound from my PC sound card. It is something like a... lashing sound (hit with a whip)!!!

I had got that sound before whatever a software releases the sound driver after an error situation, so... I think there is some kind of "bug" here.

I use ALSA audio, because PulseAudio causes me some troubles when I "translate" an score into audio files (mp3 mostly). PortAudio causes a lot of playing problems too. I don't know how to use JACK, so... I use ALSA audio (hehehehe!!!).

Can somebody test this, more... "officially", please???

Blessings and Greetings from Chile!!!
