Combine two measures into one
How do I combine measures 12 and 13 in "Spirit in the Sky C copy.mscz" to look like the single measure in the "Spirit Measure.pdf" drawing? If my drawing is flawed, any correction is welcome!

You need to put the notes with different rhythms in different voices. See https://handbook.musescore.org/basics/working-with-multiple-voices

You and Mickey are great! So "Voices" is the word I needed--now to work with it!!! thanks
You need to use voices. The eighth notes and tied half go in voice one, and the whole note goes in voice two.
Basic function. You need to learn it! Or you could use a first and a second ending, so there is no confusion about which lyrics to sing.
(Also, your words to verses 2 and 3 don't line up with the notes, unless you delete the tie.)
