MuseScore is not working on Windows 7

Hi there.

I want to inform you that when I run MuseScore 3.0.1 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, I get an error stating that "C:\Windows\system32\d3d8thk.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support." although there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with d3d8thk.dll. I have tried un- and reinstalling, getting help & support from Microsoft, reinstalling Direct3D - no luck. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this error? Thank you.
