How can i shorten the distance between notes when reading sheet music

When you view sheet music on the app there’s a huge amount of space between the notes which gets rather annoying as pieces that could fit on one page now have multiple pages

Assuming you are using MuseScore 3.0.4...

There are two ways to get this:

FIRST WAY:

1) Selected all the bars where you want to reduce the distance between notes.

2) Go to the ""Format" menu.

3) Click on the "Expand" option.

4) Click on the "Reduce width... {" option.

SECOND WAY:

1) Go to the "Format" menu.

2) Click on the "Page Adjustments" option.

3) Use the "Staff spacing (SP)" box to change the value. A minor value will reduce all the score.

That's all, folks!!!

When you say "the app", do you mean the mobile app for iOS/Android as opposed to the MsueScore notation program for Windows/macOS/Linux? If so, this is the wrong place to ask - try musescore.com. But also know, the app is just showing you the score the way to person who created it set things up.

If you do mean the MuseScore notation program, then please attach the score you are having trouble with, and we can show you how to edit it to use less space than what the person who created it used.
