Musescore 3 will not open

After updating Musescore 3 to its latest version it will not open. I downloaded a score from the community before the update, then immediately updated, idk if that has anything to do with it. I've tried everything I can think of to make it work properly such as: deleting then reinstalling, checking for computer updates, and opening a score file instead of using the regular platform icon. Any solutions besides waiting for another update?


I had the same problem after downloading the 3.0.4 update -- every time I launched it, it immediately crashed. What platform are you using? (I'm using MacOS 10.14.3.) My workaround was to go back to version 3.0.3. For Mac users who have Time Machine turned on, this is easy -- just go to the Applications folder, select "Enter Time Machine" from the Time Machine menu (it's the counter-clockwise arrow around a clock face on the right side of the menu bar), go to the last backup before installing the new version, select MuseScore 3, and click "Restore". The other option is to find the download from MuseScore 3.0.3 (look in your "Downloads" folder or wherever else you might keep such things) and resinstall from that. I'm not sure if there's a way to re-download that version from the website; the only older version I could find easily was 2.3.2.
