MuseScore 3.0.5 still has first start sound issue

• Mar 12, 2019 - 22:33

Hi, Gang!!!

I use MuseScore 3.0.5, rev. 58dd23d, in UbuntuStudio 18.04.2 LTS (64 bit Linux).

I expected this old issue was fixed but... It is not!!!

Each time I open MuseScore (the first time, each day), I don't get sound from it.

I have to go to "Preference" menu, "Input/Output" tab, and press the "Restart Audio and MIDI devices" button.

With this "workaround", I get sound, but... The cursor goes full "out-of-synchronization".

This issue is from the first 3.x version. This is not the same with 2.3.2 or early versions.

I think... This is a bug!!!

Blessings and Greetings from Chile!!!

JUAN

I've never seen this, nor can I recall anyone ever reporting anything like this before. Seems like it must be something pretty unique to your system, or systems like it in some way anyhow. Do you have a link to a bug report in the issue tracker that describes this problem? And hopefully that issue would provide detail about what you mean with the cursor?

I didn't put a note into the Issue Tracker because I was expecting a confirmation about if this is a bug (or it is just something inside my installation).

BTW: I don't know if there is a place inside my PC where I could see the "cryptic" activity each time I open MuseScore (something like errors log, maybe?). If there is some place with this information, I think it would be more easy to know.

I found this from the Linux Registers. I don't know if this is useful:

20:33:12 gdm-x-session: QQmlComponent: Component is not ready
20:33:12 gdm-x-session: QQmlComponent: Component is not ready
20:33:10 gdm-x-session: QApplication: invalid style override passed, ignoring it.
20:33:10 gdm-x-session: Jack appears to be installed on this system, so we'll use it.
20:33:04 gdm-x-session: QMutex: destroying locked mutex
20:29:46 pasystray: Failed to get sink information: No existe tal entidad
20:29:35 gdm-x-session: QQmlComponent: Component is not ready

I put it here, because the stamped time is when I opened MuseScore and I didn't get any sound. When I performed the "work-around", there was not some item registered.

I hope, that be useful data!!!
