Show Hotkey Number on Note Input Toolbar
As a beginner user, it's taken me a while to learn to use the hotkeys. Changing the note length is one of the most important features to learn. Having the number on the Note Input Toolbar buttons would make the learning process much faster and I don't think it would be too difficult to implement.
I've attached a mockup of what I have in mind:

If you hover your mouse over the button the hot key is in parentheses for everything that has one defined

That's true, but that requires moving the mouse and hovering over it. It's not a big deal but I think this would make it even easier and increase user efficiency.

It would help those who rarely use MuseScore and those who have just started. For others, the hot key becomes automatic after a short time.

I certainly agree that this would be great.
For anyone looking to possibly work at this: this feature does not mean "create new icons".
As the shortcuts are configurable/changeable this means: create a new button-class that contains both the original image and a place to put the (first) configured shortcut for that action.
Open question for others: what should be done if a user indeed has changed those shortcuts and now the shortcut text can't fit on the button if the current size is maintained? (fe change the shortcut of 5 to 'Shift+(' for Azerty)

In general, I think this is a bad idea, it just clutters the interface for everyone else, plus as you say, it doesn't work so well if the shortcuts are longer. It's not particular hard to hover, and it's pretty common across applications.
