Dynamic - dynamic velocity - sforzando

• Mar 19, 2019 - 06:41

Hello,
I have used lots of dynamics over ther years with Musescore, but for the first time I thought I would play with the actual sound it makes on playback. I am trying to make 'sf' a bit louder but changing dynamic type and/or velocity doesn't seem to do anything. Is this not adjustable or am I doing something wrong? (Musescore 3.05 Linux)

sf on its own has a Velocity property of zero, so you need to set the desired value in the inspector. But apparently you have already experimented with the Velocity...

I find that any velocity difference less than 30 is so subtle that it's easy to think that there's no change.

If you are trying to make a lout attack followed by a softer note, this is not possible in the current version. 3.1 is supposed to have dynamics that can change on a single note like this. We'll have to see how it works when the 3.1 beta gets released in the near future.
