NOTE SOUNDS WHEN THERE IS NOTHING THERE

I was revising a score this morning and trying to carry over the fourth beat of a 4/4 measure to the first beat of the next measure in Version 3.05. However, it won't let me do it, and the playback sounds the same note on the first beat of the new measure as if I put it there, but I didn't! I can't delete the note or substitute a rest in that space to make it right.

In this case a picture is worth nothing, you need to attach the actual score (.mscz file).

Thanks, I was able to solve it by saving the document and exiting the program, then reopening the file. Saving alone and reopening did not solve it. It was very strange!
