If you are talking about more than one voice into just one staff, then you have two options:

1) Go to the MIXER. Look for a section called: "MUTE VOICES". Click on the voices which you don't want to hear. Please!!! Remember to unclick them when you end your "experiment" (before to save it).

2) Go the the staff where the voices are. Right click on some note of the voice you want to mute. Into the menu you will see, choose the "SELECT" and then "MORE..." options. In the new menu you will see, please, click the boxes: "SAME STAFF" and "SAME VOICE", Now, in the "INSPECTOR" panel, you can unclick the box called: "PLAYBACK". Please!!! Remember to click that box again when you end your "experiment" (before to save it).

Now, if you have different voices into different staves, then you just have to go to the MIXER and click on the [M] (mute) button(s) on the MIXER CHANNEL(s) the voice(s) you want to mute is (are).

That's all, folks!!!
