Soundcard malfunction after using MuseScore

I have been encountering issues with my laptop's soundcard every time after I've closed the MuseScore application in Windows 10. After closing the application I am unable to play any other sounds from other applications (e.g. web browser, any video/audio) and instead a loud hissing sound comes out from my laptop speakers instead. The problem can be fixed by restarting the computer. This only happens whenever I use only MuseScore so I'm thinking that it was less likely there was an issue with my soundcard, and I'm instead wondering if there were any similar issues experienced by other users. In case of interference with other programs, esp. on Windows, go into your soundcard configuration from Control Panel and ensure that the "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" in the Advanced tab of both Playback and Recording is unticked.
