Unexplicable problem at startup

• May 19, 2019 - 11:31

I've been using musescore 3.0 for months without any major issues. However, after a system reboot a few days ago the program won't go through the startup process correctly. I run under win 10 pro, (10.0.17134), (French). On musescore launch, I get the first window where you can choose from opening an existing score or creating a new one. If I choose an existing score, no further window opens but musescore stays visible on the taskbar. If I choose to create a new score, the popups where to indicate name etc and further on the key, appear correctly but when I click on finish no score appears but the icon is still in the taskbar. The only accessible action is a right click to exit the program. I've tried to change to versions 3.05 and 3.1 but the problem stays the same. The problem persists after system reboot.
Since I haven’t done any software download / installation recently I have no idea of the causing factor. I use Kaspersky as antivirus. Is there any known incompatibility issue with that soft ?

Thanks again.
I found out what was going on! I must at some moment have clicked on the "lower level" or "minimize" button next to the "close window" button to the right in the header. That reduced the musescore window entirely. The setting persisted after restart. The only way to increase the size window was to mouse over the icon in the taskbar (which opens a small window above) and then right click on the header of that window => increase /maximize (agrandir in French). I made a summary with screen shoots in pdf format (see attachment).
Hopefully it could be of help if anyone comes across the same problem.
