Problems with small size of interface in Musescore 3

• May 20, 2019 - 00:33

Hi
I have problems icons of MuseScores 3 interface.
Everything in the toolbar is so small that I can't see them and in the Palette all the icons are big. I use my 42 inch tv as my screen.
I have to set the score to 350 % to make the score a proper size.
I had the same probleme with MuseScore 2, but I can't fix it the same way.
Please help me.

Regards Nanna

It's pretty common that operating systems don't report the size/resolution of TV sets properly to allow MsueScore to size itself. To solve this, start MsueScore from the command line with "-D 72" (whatever the actual DPI of your monitor is). See the Handbook under "Command line options" for more info.

Hey
Thank you for your quick answers
I'm Danish and I don't know what command line ore DPI are ore what it means in Danish. Can you take a screenshot of what it looks like?
It is easyer for me to know what it is, if I can see it.

My PC runs on windows 10 and my tv is a 43.

The command line is something you need to access via Windows using the information in the Handbook I mentioned. I don't know if there is a Danish translation of the page, but here is the English version:

https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/command-line-options

If you've never used the command line in Windows before, you might need to do some general web search or consult an experienced computer user to help you.

Hello All,

I had the Musescore 3 tiny icon issue on my Windows 10 PC. Here is how I fixed the problem:
> Right Click the MuseScore 3 shortcut icon on your Desktop.
> Click "Open file location".
> Right Click "MuseScore3.exe" (this is the program's executable).
> Click "Properties".
> Click the "Compatibility" tab at the top of the window.

Note: I tried using the "Change high DPI settings > check "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: Application, System, and System (Enhanced)." options, but these did not do anything.

> What I did under the "Compatibility" tab was Clicked the "Run compatibility troubleshooter" and let Windows fix the problem. IT WORKED!!! RESOLVED!!!!

I hope this helps!
