Is this possible to play on the oboe?

• Jun 2, 2019 - 07:05

I'm not sure if this is the right subforum, but I'm wondering if this is possible to play.
The first stave from the top belongs to the flutes, then the oboes, clarinets, and bassoons. Oboes apparently cannot play softly as easily in their lower register. If there are any oboists, I'd like to hear from you how difficult this would be to play and if you'd have any suggestions.

It is not possible to play the first four measures in the oboe instrument in "p" dynamics.

Instead: If you give some strength (like: mf) to other instruments (or multiply the number of accompaniment instruments) playing around the oboe, oboes can be heard like in "p" dynamics.

Remember that the dynamics of the solo instruments are heard (relative) compared to the other instruments currently playing (accompanying).

Note. I'm not an oboe player. But I'm a composer, arranger and orchestrator.

There are groups on MuseScore.com dedicated to the oboe. One user that comes to mind in named Oboe Style (written with a very fancy font). I suggest you ask on one of those forums that is active to see if you can get an opinion from them. Ziya did make good points if this is supposed to be a solo, but I'm not sure from looking at it that that's your goal.
