Musescore Becomes Unresponsive, Circumstantially, When Changing Number of Monitors

• Jul 10, 2019 - 23:50

I usually have a duel monitor setup and , just recently, moved to a one monitor setup. I noticed that every time I try to create a new score, in Musescore, the program would become unresponsive. I noticed the same thing with other functions dealing with dialog boxes and I think it is because the dialog boxes try to "open" on the second monitor (which is no longer there) and are inaccessible.

Workaround:
Re-plug-in second monitor and move the dialog boxes to the first monitor.

Comments

I seem to recall some discussion of MuseScore having difficulty "finding" elements that were moved to secondary displays. I have also experienced a couple of problems where the control features of elements (the clickable parts of the dialogue boxes) have gone missing between screens. MuseScore will remember the most recent state of your system and try to replicate it next time you start the program. It looks like you have done the right thing in making sure that you've moved things back to the single display.
