lines from palette at end of phrase
When the line is copy and pasted from the palette
to the score it covers one measure.
I have again forgotten how to jump the right hand end
of the line to the end of the next measure.

Or just add it with the correct length to begin with - select the range you want it to apply to first, then double-click the line in the palette.
