Error in Triplets
When inserting quarter note triplets, if I select the quarter note icon at the top bar and enter control 3 I get triplet eighth notes. In order to get triplets in quarter notes I needed to select the half note icon at the top bar

that is by design. 3 8th notes take the sameamount of time to play as a wuarter note.
Indeed, this is correct. See the Handbook under "Tuplets" for more info. In short, you start by selecting the total duration, then press Ctrl+3.
