Keyboard entry of slurs

MuseScore version 3.2.3.7635, revision d2d863f 64 bit on Windows 7 64 bit

Suppose I want the note sequence E, D, C with E slurred to D but not to C. To enter this sequence from the keyboard I would type EsDsC. This works correctly in Voice 1 so far as I have observed. But when doing it in Voices 2-4 AND when a measure break falls between the E and the D so D is the first note in the following measure, the slur is malformed, extending past the D to the following note or beat (or to the end of the measure if D is the only note in the measure). This does not occur when entering the slur after the notes are in place by selecting the E and typing S.
