Tempo Changes Plugin

So I download Tempo changes on Musescore 3 and unzip it like in the directions, to have the result of it popping up and closing instantly. I may not have it up to date with the system as I can only install Musescore on Software Center (It is a school computer: things are restricted, like... If an app asks for permission when you install it, then a login for an admin will show, which I can't go further with.) meaning I can't update the system, but then there is the Musescore 2.0+ Download (Thank God!), should I download that or what?
