straight eighths in single instrument section

In a big band swing arrangement, I would like to have a piano part play straight eighths for a few measures. Using MS v. 3.0.4.2117 when I choose Text > Swing at the piano part it seems to apply to all the instruments. Is there a way to change only one instrument? This is for Tennessee Waltz, Pattie Page version - measures 28-9 as an example in the attached.

I very strongly advise you to update from 3.0.4 to the latest 3.2.3.
You're missing out hundreds of bugfixes (including some pretty severe issues), major improvements of automatic placement and some nice features. There should be no reason at all to not use the most recent 3.x version
