Create a slur that connects to nothing
hello forum, is there an easy way to add a short slur to a note that connects to nothing? i want to indicate that that note should ring as long as possible.
i've tried to use the + or S shortcut and adjusting the slur to the desired position and inclination but the ending result is inconsistent in terms of shape and placement.

Add a grace note after with the same pitch make it invisible and use a tie (press +) on the main note.
There is also the built in "laissez vibrer" symbol on the Articulations palette. I find it a bit small in the default font, so I sometimes add this as text from the Special Characters palette, then increase the size.
