Voltas : Grey Not Black Brackets
Hi Everyone,
I'm sure this has been answered somewhere in the forums but I haven't been able to find the reference. I've written a first and second volta, one following the other, each of which contain two measures. Everything plays back fine except that the brackets for the voltas seem to be grey. Is there an easy fix for this? I'm still using 2.3.1 for this score so it might not be a problem the new version. No doubt there is an obvious solution I've missed.
Thanks!
David

What a limited picture. My guess is that you selected them and pressed v to make them invisible. Do this again and they will become visible and look black, otherwise attach a score.

Here's a fuller view. Invisible not selected. Re-entered the brackets with the same result. Any help very much appreciated. Thanks.

As Mike said, could you attach here your score? The *.mscz file?

Don't look grey to me. Maybe the line is just too think for your screen resolution and score zoom to show black enough

In the image a comparison. But how was that of the initial post generated?

It is blurry, but not grey? Compare to the staff lines.

Of course. If he has no custom settings in MsS.

We really need the .mscz file so we can see the actual settings in the score.

Hi Everyone,
I think I've fixed the problem by resetting the spacing between the systems. Further details to follow soon.

That doesn't make sense.

Well, it worked. The change in the brackets occurs when I re-scale the score layout from 1.764 mm to 1.364 in landscape mode. I readjusted the spacing between the systems and the top and bottom margins and the volta brackets are now black and export to the PDF correctly. Thanks to everyone for your feedback.

Changing the scaling the way you did would make the lines thicker so that would be noticed when you export to PDF. This also had the effect of increasing the distance between staves. There are other options that would only increase the distance between staves but would not make the lines thicker.

Sorry I wasn't clear. It now makes sense.
