How to disable the internal synthesizer?

• Oct 30, 2019 - 03:15

Hi, Gang!!!

I use MuseScore 3.2.3 with Ubuntu Studio 19.10 (64 bits Linux OS).

I've been testing some external option with MuseScore connected through JACK Audio Connections Kit.

I discovered that there are a lot of external MIDI synthesizer available to Linux (I discovered the wheel), and all of them can be connected through JACK.

BUT... Whatever the external MIDI instrument we use, the MuseScore internal synthesizer is always sounding with all its channels!

Is there some way to disable it, for a while, for a moment, or permanently?

Is there some way to disable only some channels (to play them in an external synthesizer)?

Blessings and Greetings from Chile!!!

The way I know is disable the synthesizer to just delete the soundfonts. Or you could just turn the volume down. I don't know of a way to have independent control over which device is used for which instruments.

Thanks a lot for the "Volume" idea!!!

It's working so fine to disable the whole internal synthesizer!!!

But... Would there be a way to disable some channels only? ???

It is intended to play some instruments with the internal synthesizer and other instruments with some external device.
