Crescendos/Diminuendos not playing back

In every score, regardless of type, imported or created from scratch, I cannot get crescendos to work. I've tried velocity changes with the Inspector, I've changed from CC2 to CC11 and turned on Constant Velocity dynamics only, etc. I've tried multiple soundfonts, and none work (not even Musescore General!). I cannot figure this out for the life of me, and it's really grinding my gears. I use the latest stable release of Musescore.
