How do I make the beam go over a 4th rest?
In know how to do it over 8th rests, you use the "beam middle" on the rest, but this doesn't seem to work for 4th rests, or in my case, dotted 4th rest

You don't, as quarter notes don't have beams. Or you use 2 8th rests any use their beaming settings
