Musescore can't read my score?
Just when I thought I was trouble free, Musescore can't read my score. I know you have helped with corrupt scores before. All I did before the score went corrupt was that I added pizzicato and arco. I rebooted my computer, but I have never had that cause issues with reading my scores. Usually that just means that when I open Musescore, it asks me to restore previous session and there is no trouble with the score. I'm also pretty sure that I saved that score previously. I don't have a backup version of that score unfortunately. Can you fix this?
OS: Windows 10
Musescore version: 3.3.4

I'm afraid it's lost.

You can't even get into the code? sigh At least I remembered most of the notes in the score so rewriting the score was no issue. If this were a symphony score that I lost, it would be a much bigger deal. But since it was just a trio, it was easy for me to remember most of the notes in the score(especially in the flute and piano parts).
Almost nothing but all zeroes. See #271185: Scores corrupted beyond repair, containing nothing but zeros
Did you deliberately delete the backup that MuseScore creates automatically when you open the file? Or did you create this entire score in one session? FWIW, I recommend periodically closing your score and reopening it, rather than leaving the score open for days on end. That way your backup is always recent, and also if there are any weird glitches that are connected to saving and reloading (as happens occasionally) you have a chance to see that.

I think I left the score open. But I'm certain that I saved the score periodically while it was open. Also, I thought Musescore only created one file per score, the score file itself.

To be clear: the backup is created when you open the score. So it doesn't matter how often you save. I mean, saving often is good, but it has nothing to do with the backup. If you want to ensure a recent backup, every once in a while you should close the file and reopen it. That will force the backup to be updated.

No, it is created when you save an existing score for the first time in a session.

True, sorry for the misstatement. But the point remains - multiple saves in a session don’t get you a more recent backup, closing and reopening the score does. Not immediately upon open, but on the first save. So it’s still good insurance.

Are the ".files" in the Scores directory the backup files? Or, can I toss these? Or hide them? Thanks!

They are backup files indeed, and hidden already

So...
After adding pizzicato and arco, exactly how and when did you know that the score "went corrupt"?
Did MuseScore crash, and then you "rebooted your computer"?
Did you save your score, close MuseScore, and then reboot?
Did you get asked "to restore the previous session"?
