PDF Conversion from Logic

• Dec 27, 2019 - 23:30

The PDF utility import is totally sucks. I used to do this offline as this is HOW I PREFER TO WORK. The PDF conversion totally botched the score as I created it in Logic. Logic scores are messy and I prefer the OLD ease of use to just export my work ( I record directly into Logic, fix a few things then export to PDF all locally).
This NEW and unimproved way totally does not work for me. PLEASE reinstate the direct import without me having to go online only to have the score ruined. I do not have time or patience for this. ... Had I known this would happen I never would have updated my old version of Musescore.

Hi,
If you were happy with the old version of MuseScore, why don't you continue to use it. MuseScore 2 and 3 versions of MuseScore live very close together on the same computer.

The PDF utility import is totally sucks.
I guess you mean the free experimental (Audiveris) import service:
https://musescore.com/import

I used to do this offline as this is HOW I PREFER TO WORK.

What exactly did you do offline? PDF import was never a feature bundled into the MuseScore app.

The PDF conversion totally botched the score as I created it in Logic.
OK... you created a score in Logic and then converted it to a PDF which was "totally botched"?.
-OR-
The PDF file from Logic was good, but the PDF import into MuseScore was "totally botched'?

Logic scores are messy and I prefer the OLD ease of use to just export my work...
Just export your work? Export from where? From Logic?

( I record directly into Logic, fix a few things then export to PDF all locally).
OK... so does this still work?... (though it has nothing to do with MuseScore)

This NEW and unimproved way totally does not work for me. PLEASE reinstate the direct import without me having to go online...

Again, PDF import was never a feature bundled into the MuseScore app. The online service hasn't changed and was always invoked by MuseScore during PDF import.

Downloading and using Audiveris locally on your computer (or using another third party software) will eliminate having to go online.

Why dont you use the midi- or better the musicxml-export funktion of Logic and open these files with Musescore?
PDF is a graphical and not a music format and the transformation is problamatic.
