insert text in a frame under the score

• Jan 5, 2020 - 17:26

When i have my score I want to put a text under the score to explain something for my musicians. I also want to have several verses under, because they cannot find a place directly under the notes. Kan I make a frame and put text in it

Feel free to expalin what you find troubling about MuseScore 3. it's vastly superior MuseScore 2 in virtually every conceivable way (save one: "Albums" are not supported yet), but the differences do take a minute to adjust to. We're happy to help you make the transition, and I think you'll be shocked at just how much time and effort the improvements in MuseScore 3 will save you!

Click the image to drag.
If you want to add text to be edited, use the Vertical Frame or the Text Frame.
The spacing depends on the font size, I don't think it's settable.

space between lines you mean https://musescore.org/en/handbook/layout-and-formatting#style-edit-gene… ?

Vertical frames are called that for a reason - they stacked on top of each other. If you want side-by-side frames, use horizontal frames instead. But it's not needed here. You can simply attach both sets of lyrics to the same frame and position them manually (eg, with the Inspector). Also, while it certainly works to use images for this, and that might be the way to go if you need the hand-drawn symbols, do be aware you can also add text directly within MuseScore (right-click the frame, Add / Text).

Not sure what you mean when you say you cannot put the text side by side. Do you mean you don't want to, or you haven't figured out how to? It's easy, just add one text column via Add / Text, move it where you want it, then add the other the same way, then move it where you want it.

Horizontal frames can indeed exist on the same line as music. You can add a system break after the last measure to put the frame below, although it seems this causes the staff name to appear, so I wouldn't do that unless you plan to remove the staff names (which isn't a bad idea). But actually, you can add a vertical frame, and create horizontal frames inside it. Either of those approaches would work but are not as easy as just adding two text elements to the vertical frame as I described before.

Not sure which search window you mean - here on this site? It's not very good indeed, I generally do better by using Google to do the search for me.

Hello.
You say It's easy, just add one text column via Add / Text, move it where you want it, then add the other the same way, then move it where you want it.
When I go to the menu and choose Add-text there is no such option as make a coloum. I want 7 verses in two rows 4 in one and 3 in sexond row. I have the text on Word, and try to copy and past, but it all comes a long row, and even on the following page. I give up, the only way I can put more verses side by side is to take a pair of scissors and glue it to the final sheet. But here I send you my desolated file and you are welcome to try to put the verses side by side. I play in a group and we must know how many verses there are, and the content of them too.
It is very complicated to have to write all my questions through musescore site. I wish I had a friend to talk to, this takes too much time.
