Trying to add flute/piccolo notes
wont let me enter high notes! Need to enter high (flute, piccolo notes) and it keeps disappearing when I get above a high F!!!!

Are you sure the notes are within the range of the chosen instrument?
Can you attach here the score you are having problems with?
Using a mouse to enter them? If so, just don't, use the computer keyboard (and the arrow keys) instead
Go ahead and use the mouse. Write the pitches you want below High F. Then select the passage and hit CTRL+up arrow. That puts them up an octave. Maybe not faster than keyboard, but you don't have to learn a different method of input if you don't want to. Or don't read ledger lines that well
