Musescore Not Responding on blue Start screen

I've been having difficulty getting musescore to work on my new computer. I've used it on my desktop but trying to use it on my surface doesn't work. Downloaded the latest version and tried the beta, neither work. When I open up musescore the blue Musescore window opens but stops responding and I have to force close it.


The startup screen never goes away? I wonder if maybe an error dialog is appearing somewhere, perhaps offscreen. Anything unusual about your monitor setup? See the Handbook about how to "Revert to factory settings" using the command line option "-F" and see if that fixes it.
