Huge unwanted space between scores.

When I use 'section break' or 'page break', the software usually moves the scores( which were originally to the right) onto an entirely new page, meaning the rest of the page is blank and unused. I am trying to move these scores back onto the page I am on to fill the space, but am having no success. I look forward to any suggestions.
