Update Problems
Earlier this week, an update became available and I installed it. However, when I tried running it, it starts up, and after 2 or 3 seconds, it bombs out. I tried restarting it. It comes up with "The previous session quit unexpectedly. Restore session? Yes or No." Whatever I select is the wrong answer.

Try following the instructions in the Handbook under "Revert to factory settings".

this may be a silly question but would this result in any loss of scores or only the settings we have?

I already uninstalled MuseScore and reinstalled it, and it appears to work fine.

Good, but not the same as reverting to factory settings, as those are kept when you uninstall/reinstall
