Can't open score

I recently finished a score, saved the score, and closed down musescore. I just opened it up again to print it but now a message keeps popping up saying that it can't read my file. What do I do?

I can't open it either. W10, MuseScore 3.4.1
Some one will be along that can tell us why.

Renaming a PDF file as *.mscz makes it unusable.

That's a PDF file with an incorrect mscz filename extension. If you change the extension to pdf, it opens fine in Adobe Acrobat.

I'm guessing that while exporting the score as a PDF file you somehow managed to change the extension to mscz, thus inadvertently causing the original MuseScore file to be overwritten. Try to see if you can recover a backup copy.
