Musescore failure hardware related to BlueTooth Headsets

• Feb 11, 2020 - 03:00

Helped myself. I recently bought a Sennheiser Ultra Low lag Bluetooth headset. When I have them turned off, the program loads normally. I can plug in standard headsets and use the program. When I turn on the Blue tooth headset, The computer and headset say I'm connected, and I can go onto Musescore.com and listen to songs, but the Notation software does not play on my Bluetooth Headset. If my Bluetooth headset is active when I turn the program on, the parts are grayed and I cannot play the score. I will add this to the comment started on ../en/forum
If there is a fix, I don't know what it would be. So though I found the root cause, I cannot cure the disease.

Completely disconnect your headphones. Re-pair. Start MuseScore and go to the I/O section of Preferences and make sure your headphones are listed and not your sound card. I just had to do this because there was no sound from my headphones. Although buttons were not greyed out. Worth a try.

Well...
Started Musescore notation software.
Selected [Edit] [Preferences] [I/O]

The bluetooth headset did not show up as an output option
I selected [Microsoft Sound Mapper Input] which worked.
I then checked my list again and low and behold, the headset appeared.
I have checked that for now, though I think the microsoft sound mapper would probably work for any headset or speakers. I will experiment a little in my spare time and if it does I will suggest to Musescore that for Windows, maybe that should be the default. (I'll have to play around with it and some other speakers and headsets to find out)
Thanks a lot for your assistance.
