JACK MIDI output issue

I've been trying to use JACK to connect Musescore with VST instruments, but I couldn't figure out how to set up a virtual MIDI output. I've been looking through I/O preferences but I can't choose a MIDI output. Can anyone please help? (sorry if the answer is obvious)

You need the check the JACK box there. The MIDI output there isn't for JACK, it is for direct MIDI output.

Note there are currently some issues with running JACK in MuseScore, with possible workarounds available, see #285307: JACK Audio on Musescore 3.x not working. The fixes should be in for 3.5, so you may wish to try downloading a "nightly" build if you aren't successful with the workarounds.
