update error

hey folks

trying to update from 3.3.0.8 to the latest version via the 'check update' in the help tab.

I get 'Update Error - Check internet connection and try again.'

The internet is absolutely working and i am not running a firewall.

any ideas why this might happen?

And if i download the latest version msi fill and install manually, will i lose all my current settings?

No idea why the auto update might be struggling (any time I've had problems it did turn out to be firewall-related). But I can confirm that downloading and installing the update manually does not lose settings.
