Entered lyrics do not resize measures, move up and down

• Mar 8, 2020 - 22:38

Did anyone noticed when you enter lyrics and try to drag individual words up and down, entire row also moves (sometimes in opposite direction? Another problem is it does not stretch measures if words you enter above notes don't fit, and words leave no spaces between them, which makes it impossible to read.

When you try to spread the words apart a bit, they move, but the measure length remains the same, so the words or individual syllables no longer line up with respective notes' heads. Also, again, whole row of lyrics moves up and down as soon as you touch one word to move it. Interestingly, if you also have chord symbols entered on different staff, it also moves when you deal with lyrics text.

This was not an issue in ver. 2, although it was not perfect either.

Anyone else notices this? Try to enter lyrics with more-less long syllables per note and see what happens.

Thank you,
Victor

So that someone here could experience exactly what you seem to be struggling with, please attach a score exhibiting your issues.
Also mention what measures, what words you are trying to enter, what you want to happen, etc.
This will ensure a more targeted reply, relative to your actual problem(s).

Lyrics are normally supposed to be aligned within a system. It's not clear why you might be trying to drag a lyric out of alignment, chances are there is a better way to do whatever it is you are doing (eg, change to a different verse number using Inspector, or flip above the staff with "X"). That said, dragging lyrics works as expected for me. And so does spacing of them. So as others have suggested, please attach your score - or at least a relevant excerpt - and give more information on how to reproduce the problems you are seeing.
