Fretboard diagrams with finger numbers

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to add finger numbers to a fret board diagram? I have looked and am surprised it doesn't seem to be an option.
Also, I have tried putting white numbers on black dots from the master palette to add to a grid diagram but when I bring the dots and the numbers the grid covers them so they can't be seen. Is there a way to make the grid "move to the back" so the numbers can be seen?
