Missing Files with MuseScore 3
I recently upgraded to MuseScore 3 and noticed that all the scores that I've created since then have been saved into a new folder which I cannot access. None of the scores appear in any search and I can only see the most recent ones in the "open recent" menu option. So I can't find or open a number of older scores I've created since upgrading to MuseScore 3.

The MuseScore 2 folder is there with all the scores I created prior to the MuseScore 3 upgrade but, alas, the MuseScore 3 folder with the new score files isn't appearing.

So you created and saves scores using MuseScore 3 and now can't navigate to where you saved them and open them again?
But you can navigate to the MuseScore 2 files and open those?
What version of MuseScore exactly, what operating system?

Thanks. I have started seeing the Musescore 3 folder (through the file>open only - but that's great to get my scores) after reinstalling my system software. So I'm happy that I can access my scores, but still puzzled as to why the MuseScore folder doesn't appear. As I can see through the file>open menu, the MuseScore 3 folder is located in library>application support>musescore>musescore3 but that folder isn't appearing when I look for it through my finder or when I try searching for the scores. But I can now access the scores and have saved copies to a searchable location (documents folder). I'm on a mac (10.13.6). And I'm on MuseScore 3.4.2.25137 (revision 148e43f). Cheers!

I don't know much about macOS either, but "library>application support>musescore>musescore3" does not sound like a good place to save your scores. That sounds like a place where MuseScore itself might be installed, totally different thing - most OS's like to keep these completely separate. If you go to Edit / Preferences / General from within MuseScore, you should see the name of the path where MuseScore defaults saving scores. But it also remembers the last-saved-to folder, so if you ever once saved somewhere else, then start saving new scores without navigating elsewhere, they'd go to that other place. So, try creating a new score, then File / Save, and pay attention to what folder it defaults to.

Thanks Marc. I did change that yesterday which will help in future scores. I'm not sure why the MuseScore 3 upgrade changed the default to an invisible folder and away from the usual accessible folder where all my MuseScore 2 files are, but at least I've been able to copy all the new MuseScore 3 scores into my main documents folder now.

To be clear: the install does not change the default, it actually installs as a completely new program with its own default, which is normally "MuseScore3/Scores" under your own home folder (probably '/home/YourName" or something like that). The MuseScore 2 default is the same but "2" instead of 3 - both are normally installed by default under your home folder, and nothing is hidden unless you hide it. So right now it isn't really clear what has become messed up, but at this point I'd recommend you do Help / Revert to Factory Settings to get things back the way they are supposed to be - who knows what else has managed to get messed up, after all.
