Accessibility suggestion: when entering notes, here them in perspective of the whole score

Hello all,

As a blind user, I started using Musescore after years of using lilypond. I really like the Musescore experience so far. My primary area is writing chorals for organ, two staves with two voices per staff. In my workflow, I first record my ideas with the organ and then write down what I played by listening it back.

I often find myself in a situation where I make a small mistake while writing a certain voice, i.e. one note is too short by accident. In that case, I often feel a bit lost with Musescore and tend to start over the whole part of the voice I was writing.

Now, my suggestion is, would it be possible to expand note preview in such a way that it plays not only the note you just entered, but also the other notes in the score, possibly with a softer volume? This way, you can easily hear when you made a mistake in one of the voices, since in that case, it gets out of sync with the rest of the piece.

Regards,
Leonard

This is a good idea. We do already play the whole chord of the current staff by default, and there is an option to control this in Edit / Preferences / Note Input. We could certainly consider adding another option to play the notes of other staves as well.

I started with MuseScore 4 this week and honestly discovered that I would still very much like this feature to be implemented if possible.
Also, when you have multiple voices on one staff, yet only the note of the current voice are played when entering musicm so the other voice stays silent.
