Gradual bends?
I read over everything I could find about bends and don't think this was specifically addressed; I apologize if I missed it.
Is there a way to notate gradual bends?
Applying a bend to a note creates an arrow with a steep curve. In a guitar part, I would interpret this as immediately bending the string the full desired amount. What I'd like to be able to do is create an arrow that curves up over a longer (customizable) horizontal length. For example, I'd like to indicate that a D should be bent to an E, but should take the length of a whole-note to arrive at the target pitch.
In tablature I've often seen this represented as a longer curving arrow, with the "peak" placed at the point in the measure where the player should arrive at the target pitch. I can't seem to be able to do this with the bend tool.
If there is a workaround involving lines or articulation tools, I'd be interested to know what others have tried/come up with. I'm not concerned with faithful playback, just the visual. Thanks!
