Arpeggio: add symbol without changing playback

I'm transcribing a piece for acoustic guitar and I need to write down a fast strum.
Using arpeggios, playback is too slow and the result is very bad. So I would like to just add an arrow on the tab, but keep the normal playback, is that possible? I already tried to deselect "Play" in the inspector of the arpeggio sign, but it did not seem to work.
