Reset Shapes and Positions won't work.

Reset Shapes and Positions won't work for some cases. In older good Musescore 2, I was able to set the heights between staves by using mouse easily. Now it became automatic but it won't work some times. I attach a problematic case below (crossing slurs). Automatic positining is good at positining texti though. Is there a way to make automatic position/shapes an optional feature, preferably in a manner such that the user can easily switch between manual and automatic positioning?

It is removed because it's almost always the wrong thing to do now. Dragging affected the entire score but only for this staves. That's very rare, normally you'd do that only once per score, to separate the strings from the rest of an orchestra or whatever. The things that are more common are to want all staff distances changed, in which case it remains a style setting as always, or to adjust staff distance for one system only, in which case you use spacers as always.

It's not clear from just a picture how you got into this situation - MuseScore should have adjusted the staff distance automatically. Attaching the actual score would help us understand and assist better. As I mentioned elsewhere, spacers are how you should have solved problems like this in MuseScore 2, but this problem shouldn't have occurred here at all.

AH, I see, you're in continuous view. The code that automatically increases staff spacing is disabled there because it would slow things down too much. But switch to page view - or print the score or export it to PDF, which is always done in page view - and all is well. In general, all formatting should be done there, because many things will be different in continuous view compared to page view (relative widths of measures, alignment of lyrics and voltas , etc). So adjustments made in continuous view won't necessarily look right in page view. This was even more true in MuseScore 2.
