Glissando does not play after duration of note
- Place 64th or 128th notes as glissando end and start points.
- Attach glissando
- Glissando does not play.
I only get correct playback if I use a longer note, but why is that? A glissando isn't an ornament; it's shorthand for lots of tiny notes.

I suspect it will struggle if the duration of the notes is not actually as long as the notes that would need to be inserted.

Because you entered everything in voice 1 and made the 32nd rests invisible does not mean that the rests absolutely and completely "vanish" .
Here is your example, with the rests visible:
As you have discovered, getting rid of the rests -- not by making invisible -- but rather by adding a longer duration note, will eliminate the silence..

Why didn't I think of that? If I use 1st voice for looks and 2nd voice for playback, that will be a much smoother workaround than messing around with invisible tied notes. By the way, the glissando is the notes, or at least that's how should be; Musescore thinks otherwise.
