Change note value takes two presses of a number key

• Jun 7, 2020 - 19:54

OS: Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 2.3.2+dfsg3-7~ppa1804+1 (Ubuntu bionic/amd64), revision: 4592407

I've just updated my main system from Ubuntu 14.04 to 18.04 and installed the Musescore detailed above.
I was amending a score, and needed to change a note value, I had to press the number twice (either on the keyboard or number pad). I confirmed this several times on different notes.
Previously I simply pressed the note value number and the note value changed. Is this a bug, or a feature.

Thanks for all your work,
Pete

I've not specifically heard of that before. But whichever it is, MuseScore 2.3.2 is the last 2.x versions and doesn't receive anymore patches.
We're on 3.4.2 now (with 3.5 lurking around the corner). Consider using the officially supported AppImage in favor of the community packages. If you don't want to use the provided AppImage, then think at least about switching to the mscore3 ppa.

Hi Jeetee, thanks for the feedback. I've just shifted my main system from Ubuntu 14.04 to 18.04, and was hoping to crack on with MuseScore 2.3 - which was working just fine for me. But you are absolutely right, I should probably make the jump to 3 now. Cheers, Pete
