ottava one chord
In this example, I want the ottava basso to apply only to the chord on the third beat of the measure. However, on playback, it also transposes the chord on the 4th beat down an octave. How can I make it not do that?

See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/octave-lines and follow the link to how to correctly change the covered length of a line.
Your line is still anchored to both the 3rd and 4th beat.
If you don't want the line to show, then simply uncheck that option in the inspector for that line. Also consider changing the line start text from ottava to ottavaBassa, which is a bit more common when applied to a single chord

How do I move the red anchor point? When I move it with the mouse, it jumps back to where it was on beat 4.
